7 Creative Ways to Celebrate Valentine's Day in Los Angeles

With Valentine’s Day right around the corner, you will find couples throughout Los Angeles frantically trying to get a reservation before it's too late. This year, I’ve decided to ditch the restaurant and plan something different for Valentine’s Day in Los Angeles. Although, I've always thought this holiday was a little over-rated...I can't miss out on celebrating!

Are you looking to go beyond the usual dinner date for Valentine’s Day this year? Check out my six ideas for a romantic date with your bae.

Take a Day or Weekend Trip

My boyfriend and I have just decided to plan a weekend trip to San Diego to celebrate Valentine’s Day. This year, it falls on President’s Day weekend, which means we both have off on Monday. So, what better way to take advantage of the long weekend than a weekend getaway?

Oue Skyspace Los Angeles

Take your view and relationship to new heights at the Oue Skyspace Los Angeles. The Oue Skyspace LA is the tallest open-air observation deck in the city, nearly 1,000 feet above downtown! After you take your Instagram pictures in the window, you can head to the Skybar with your bae to grab a drink. If you are adventurous, you’ll have to check out the Skyslide that slides from the 70th to 69th floor. I haven’t personally been here yet, but planning a trip to go later this year.

Visit the LACMA or a Museum

Three years later – the LACMA is still on my bucket list of something I need to do in LA ASAP. The Los Angeles County Museum of Art is the largest art museum on the west side, with free general admission LA County residents Monday through Friday after 3 pm. You can go take insta-worthy pictures outside by the iconic street lamp installation with your date and then head inside to browse the museum for the perfect Valentine’s Day romantic date.

Malibu Wine Safari

Head down the coast with your date and get ready to get close and personal with the animals on the Malibu Wine Safari. Tickets sell out fast, so I recommend booking early. I planned a trip for my birthday and the customer service was SUPER helpful in adding more people to my group so close to the date. You will be enjoying locally sourced wines in a jeep safari, as you stop at different locations to see more animals. The best part is Stanley the giraffe – make sure you get a picture with him on your date.

Take a Cruise

Hop on board and enjoy a romantic afternoon with your special someone on board a cruise. There are several cruise options in Long Beach where you can sight see. There are even whale watching options! If you are looking for a dinner cruise, try The Queen Mary "My Vintage Valentine." On board, you will watch a "four-course love story," where a new act appears on stage with each course of your dinner meal.

Hike and a Picnic

Go explore the Santa Monica Mountains or Hollywood Hills on a romantic date outdoors for Valentine’s Day. You’ll get a workout in and save money!

Take a Cooking Class

I don’t know about you, but I am a picky eater and I don’t really enjoy cooking. I normally find myself with zero time to cook and end up cooking the same things week after week. So why not mix up date night with a cooking class? There are tons of cooking classes in Los Angeles and they make a perfect date spot for you and your special someone for Valentine’s Day.

Happy February 14th love birds!
